Questions

Questions and answers

How the planner works, what’s free, your account, the full plan and your data.

The free tool

Is it really free?

Yes. The planner, your month, your savings goals and debts, a bills and subscriptions calendar for up to 3 bills, an emergency fund, the monthly check-in email, milestone cards, and all the guides and calculators are free, with no card needed. The full plan is a separate, optional one-off payment.

How are my dates worked out?

What’s left each month is your take-home pay minus your spending and any minimum repayments. For a savings goal, we divide what you still need by what you put aside each month and round up to a whole month. For anything you owe: each month, interest is added to each balance (the yearly rate divided by 12), then your payment comes off. We repeat that until every balance reaches zero. With several debts, every debt gets its minimum and any extra goes to the debt at the top of your list; when one is paid off, its payment rolls on to the next.

How accurate is it?

It’s an estimate that assumes your rates and payments stay the same and no new debt is added. Fees, rate changes and how your lender charges interest can move it a little. Your lender can give you exact payoff figures.

Do I need to connect my bank?

No. You type in your own numbers. We never ask for bank logins, card numbers or account numbers.

Which countries and currencies does it work in?

Any country. The tool works in US, Australian, Canadian, New Zealand and Singapore dollars, pounds, euros, South African rand, Indian rupees, Philippine pesos and Nigerian naira. It picks your currency from your device, and you can change it any time.

Your account

How do I sign in?

There’s no password. Enter your email on the sign-in page and we’ll email you a link. Each monthly check-in email has one too.

How do I stop the emails?

Untick the monthly check-in on your dashboard, or use the unsubscribe link at the bottom of any email.

How do I delete my account?

Open your dashboard and choose “Delete my account and data”. Your numbers and email address are removed straight away.

Who can see my numbers?

Only you, when you’re signed in. We never sell or share them, and affiliates never see your details. Read the privacy policy for the full list.

The full plan

What’s in the full plan?

Your pay plan: what each pay has to cover and what’s left for day-to-day; big yearly bills turned into a monthly amount to put aside; Can I afford it?; every bill and subscription, with an email before each one’s due; what-if tools for extra money, a purchase, a tough few months or a rate change. If you owe anything: exactly what to pay each month, ticked off as you go; every payoff order compared on your numbers; progress tracking; interest-free periods; and a home loan comparison of extra repayments, an offset account and velocity banking.

Is it a subscription?

No. It’s one payment.

Can I get a refund?

Yes. Ask within 14 days of buying for a full refund, no questions asked. Send us a message and choose “A refund”, using the email you paid with. The refund goes back to the card you paid with, and banks usually show it within 5 to 10 business days.

Strategies

What’s the difference between snowball and avalanche?

Avalanche puts extra money on the highest interest rate first, which usually means paying the least interest. Snowball puts it on the smallest balance first, which clears whole debts sooner. Richer Road shows both on your own numbers. The choice is yours.

Does velocity banking work?

It depends on your income, spending and interest rates. The full plan runs it on your own numbers next to snowball and avalanche, so you can see the difference for yourself.

Can I trust this?

Is this financial advice?

No. Richer Road is planning software. It shows what each choice does with your numbers and never recommends a lender, a loan or a financial product. You choose.

How does Richer Road make money?

From people who choose to buy the full plan, once. No lender, bank, card company or debt firm pays us, there are no ads, and we never sell data. Some creators earn a commission when people they introduce buy the full plan. It doesn’t change your price, and they must say so.

Do lenders or banks pay you?

No. We take no money from lenders, banks, card companies, brokers or debt firms, so nobody can pay to be recommended.

What do you do with my information?

We use it to show you your plan, and for nothing else. Only you can see your numbers. We never sell, rent or share them, and they’re never sent to any AI service, advertiser or data broker. We never ask for bank logins or card numbers. Privacy and security in plain words.

What if your maths is wrong?

Every date comes from one monthly calculation, published with worked examples you can check: how the numbers work. If you spot a mistake, tell us. We fix it and list it in our corrections log.

Who runs Richer Road?

Richer Road (ABN 22 693 549 847), an independent, self-funded business based in New South Wales, Australia. The details are on Our standards.
